According to the National Centers for Sports Safety, 3.5 million children ages 14 and under receive medical treatment for sports-related injuries each year. Of those injuries, nearly half are overuse injuries due to incomplete bone growth or improper training and conditioning. Many young athletes are being improperly developed and over-trained, with a lack of proper guidance as it regards resistance training and athletic nutrition. This lack of supervision and teaching inevitably results in poor performance and unnecessary injury causing dysfunction and imbalance throughout the kinetic chain if not corrected.
Additionally, child obesity in the United States is easily the worst in the world, resulting primarily from lack of exercise, combined with the very poor diet of a fast-food-GMO-injected culture. Similar to the SENIOR TRAINING Program, special considerations must be considered for this demographic. The primary focus of A-GAME YOUTH TRAINING is on physiological development and physical literacy in accordance to my Path to Optimum Performance , as well as the POSITION STATEMENT of the National Strength & Conditioning Association on Youth Resistance Training. A-GAME YOUTH TRAINING, as all of my Programs, instructs progressive training based on a developmental continuum under highly-skilled, knowledgeable, and professional supervision at all times.
